Need one per participant:

  • Completed BSA Annual Health and Medical Record, parts A and B required - available at:
  • *Troop Leader Guidebook (one per participant) - #616729
  • *Boy Scout Handbook (one per participant) - 13th Edition - Copyright 2016 or later - #621131
  • 1Guide to Safe Scouting (one for each participant)
  • Pocketknife
  • BSA Scout Uniform Shirt
  • Scout Activity Shirt (Class B T-Shirts)
  • Scout Neckerchief and Slide or Bolo
  • Clothing Appropriate For Weather Conditions (dress in layers)
  • Rain gear
  • Water bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Matches and fire starters
  • Sun screen
  • Compass (not GPS device)
  • Backpack or Bag to Carry Your Gear
  • Sleeping bag or blankets
  • Leather Gloves
  • Medication
  • Mess Kit
    • Spoon, knife, fork
    • Bowl
    • Cup (for hot and cold liquids)
  • Toiletries (No showers as Camp Whispering Cedars and no showers at Camp Augustine October 14-16)

Group Gear (Coordinate to share between every 2-3 people from your troop coming to training)

  •  Tent (one or two person tents; no wall or large recreation tents)
  •  Ground Cloth
  •  Camp Shovel
  •  Ax and/or Hatchet
  •  Camp Saw
  •  Container for Water (1/2 gallon to 1 gallon)
  •  Toilet Paper

Meals Provided (For Dates Outside of Summer Camp)

  •  Saturday - Lunch, Dinner, and Cracker Barrel
  •  Sunday - Breakfast and Lunch

You will be treated like new Scouts at this training. Troop trailers are not recommended, however if you must bring one, it must be left in designated areas and gear hiked in.
