Staff and Operational Changes Coming to the Jayhawk Area Council

The Executive Board has approved the following changes to the overall operations to the Jayhawk Area Council.

Merger of Two Districts

The Executive Board of the Jayhawk Area Council has voted to merge the Buffalo and Shunga Districts into one service area effective June 1, 2021. This decision was based on several factors and it is felt this will be the best way to serve this area moving forward. The key leadership of both districts have been informed and more information will be covered during the regular May meetings.

While some details are still being worked out, Kristen Conrad will serve as the district executive of the new district. She is currently the District Executive of the Buffalo District. Kristen looks forward to meeting the leaders from the Shunga District and will be working with both committee and commissioner staffs to merge efforts moving forward.

Pony Express Get a New District Executive

With the recent promotion of Aaron Russell to the Northern Star Council in St. Paul, Minnesota, Scout Executive Wayne Pancoast is pleased to announce that Ian Lamb will become the District Executive for the Pony Express District effective May 1, 2021. He will continue to serve at the District Executive for the Sunflower District. These two service areas have a history of close relationship and we look forward to Ian’s continued success in serving both areas.

Office Support Changes

Effective June 1, Kimberley Brummett, Fundraising Assistant will assume the duties of membership registrar. Receptionist duties, event registrations and general program support will be handled by the store staff.
