Silver Buffalo Award Nomination 2022

Silver Buffalo Award

Created in 1925, the Silver Buffalo Award for distinguished service to youth is awarded to those persons who give noteworthy and extraordinary service to youth. This award is Scouting’s highest commendation of the invaluable contributions that outstanding Americans make to youth.

The service must be national in scope and can be independent of, or directly through, the Boy Scouts of America.

The Silver Buffalo Award is part of the so-called “Silver family” of BSA awards, alongside the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service within a council and the Silver Antelope Award for distinguished service on the regional level.

It is time to nominate deserving volunteers for the 2022 Silver Buffalo Award. Nomination forms with no more than two recommendation letters must be submitted together electronically to the National Service Center at awards@scouting.org no later than August 31, 2021. 

Just a reminder... the candidate should not be notifies of their nomination.

When submitting the Silver Buffalo Nomination form electronically, please include as much correct and relevant information about the nominee as possible. Incomplete nominations will not be considered. Be sure the nominee's name is spelled correctly and highlight all contributions to youth inside and outside of Scouting. Additional endorsement letter from specific areas may be included, provide they feature detail explanation of the nominee's contributions.
