Scout Day at the K and Top Sellers Zoo Party - New Dates Announced!

We have updates on our Top Seller celebrations:

  • Top Seller Parties at the Zoo - Party Date CHANGED to July 11
  • Scout Day at the K - New Date - September 27

As many of you may have heard, the Topeka Zoo and Major League Baseball are both making changes as they adapt to our circumstances as the world addresses the spread of the coronavirus.  We have coordinated with the zoo to reschedule our Top Seller parties.  The Heart of America Council just received word from the Royals that the new Scout Day at the K event will be on Sunday, September 27.

All tickets that have been ordered will be automatically moved to the new date there is no need to re-order.  I have also been told that any who made reservations for the pre-game parade have all been "locked down" for the new game.  Those were already sold out so no more are available.

Refunds:  For those unable to attend the re-scheduled date, refunds are available in the following ways.

  • Unit Orders via the Jayhawk Area Council - if your unit ordered tickets as a group through the Jayhawk Area Council, you will need talk to your unit leadership and have them request a refund by emailing Alayne.Weber@scouting.org.  Refunds will be processed to the unit. It is up to the unit to reimburse their membership. We encourage first that you look to transfer the tickets among other unit members before requesting the refund.
  • Orders made directly through the Heart of America website - Any orders, by unit or by individual that were made through the host council - HOAC.org -will NOT be refunded except for extreme situations.  Since the date was re-scheduled and not cancelled, no refunds are available unless the September game is cancelled. Please contact the Heart of America Council should you need any additional details.
  • Popcorn Top Sellers - If you qualified for two tickets for being a top seller and you purchased additional tickets using the form that was sent to you, please email Alayne.Weber@scouting.org to request a refund of the additionally purchased tickets.  If your extra tickets were ordered through your unit or on the Heart of America website, follow the appropriate step above.

For orders placed through the Jayhawk Area Council, we ask that all refund requests be received by the Jayhawk Area Council no later May 29, 2020 so we can ensure everyone receives the tickets they want. This is a hard date as our final order is due June 1 to the Heart of America Council.  Tickets will be distributed late August so you or your families do not have to hold onto the tickets all summer before using and run the risk of misplacing them.

An email will be sent to all popcorn top sellers and the unit contact for the group orders received by the Jayhawk Area Council that will include the details above.

We hope to see everyone in September for the Scout Day at the K!
