Rolley Scout Service Center and Reservation Closed to Visitors

In consideration of the health and safety of our Scouting families and staff, the Jayhawk Area Council will be closing the Rolley Scout Service Center to all visitors effective March 23, 2020 until further notice.  A skeletal staff will be available to address your needs by phone, email, or US mail.

The Jayhawk Scout Shop will be available to fulfill orders via shipping only.  Our district executives will also be available via phone or email but they have been instructed to stay home to minimize contact with others.  We have enhanced our council’s conference call and online meeting options so we can continue our planning processes for upcoming activities.  Your commissioner staff stands ready as always to assist your unit’s needs.

Furthermore, we are instructing our units to cease any face-to-face activities at least until further notice. We will evaluate this constantly and provide updates.  There are numerous resources being developed for “Scouting at home” activities. We will be sharing ideas on the Jayhawk Area Council Facebook page.  We encourage everyone to share these ideas and best practices so all can benefit.

The Jayhawk Area Council is busy planning our summer programs and, at this time, we are operating as they will occur as planned.  Should this current situation dictate the need to cancel or postpone our summer camp plans, full refunds will be given to all who have registered.  We will be ready and prepared for either contingency.

While we regret the need for these actions, we are making the health and well-being of our Scouting families, our staff, and their families the number one priority.

Yours in Scouting,

Nick Xidis, Council President

Ken Roemer, Council Commissioner

Wayne Pancoast, Scout Executive
