Forest Park to Host Haunted Woods

The Jayhawk Area Council is teaming up with the Forest Park Association to create the Haunted Woods this October.  There are three ways for you to join the fun.  You may create a scare scene for the Haunted Woods, promote ticket sales and earn money for your troop, crew, or post, and you can bring your friends and enjoy the evening at the Haunted Woods.

The Haunted Woods will run weekends in October from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.  Click on the schedule below for details.

Scare Scenes - We are looking for Venture Crews, Older Boy Scout Patrols, Explorer Posts, and other teenaged youth groups to build and operate scenes for the Haunted Woods.  Groups will be given $300 for the purchase of materials for each scene.  Groups will be able to work on their scenes during the month of September to prepare for the October 5th dress rehearsal and media night.  The Haunted Woods will open for the public on Friday, October 6th.

The group that receives the most "Best Scene" votes from the general public will receive a pizza party provided by Jayhawk Area Council.

Ticket Promotion - In order to help drive attendance to the Haunted Woods, the Forest Park Association has offered a dollar for each ticket your group gets someone to purchase.  You simply promote the event and hand out information with your promotion code on it.  When the individual purchases their ticket online they will enter your code at check out and your group will receive money for each ticket.  No distributing and tracking tickets. No collecting or handling money.  It's simple and can add up fast.

Attend the Haunted Woods - The easiest way to be involved is to attend.  This event is open to all ages.  Family type activities will be available at earlier hours.  Tickets will be available online or at the door (we recommend online, so you can reserve your time slot).  Gather up all you friends and relatives and enjoy the Haunted Woods.  Make sure you enter a promo code at check out to support the units of the Jayhawk Area Council.
