Buzz began his Scouting career in 1958 with Pack 17 in Red Bank, New Jersey.  In 1966 he had the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout, and is a Life Member of NESA (National Eagle Scout Association).  He has also received Order of the Arrow-Vigil Honor, participated in the 1964 National Jamboree at Valley Forge and is a Life Member of Alpha Phi Omega.

As an adult, Buzz attended Boy Scout and Cub Scout Wood Badge and has served as Course Staff Advisor.  He has held many volunteer positions including District Commissioner prior to beginning a professional career working for the Boy Scouts of America in Michigan.

In relation to camp management experience, Buzz has held numerous positions including Camp Director for Eastern Nebraska 4H Center, Camp Visitor for American Camp Association, Shooting Sports Director, Trading Post Manager, Order of the Arrow Lodge Staff Advisor, Camp Director at Camp Cedars and Executive Director for Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation.  In November of 2011, he relocated to the Three Fires Council where he has served as their Program Director until now.  He is bringing years of experience and passion for camping and outdoor programs to the Jayhawk Area Council.

As Jayhawk Area Council Program Director, Buzz will provide support to all council-level programs including Wood Badge, Order of the Arrow, National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), and will serve as the Camp Director for the Falley Scout Reservation summer camping programs.

I hope you will join me in welcoming Buzz to the Jayhawk Area Council. We are excited to have him join our team to better serve the youth of our area.
