Fall is Here! Make Sure Your Unit Updates Its BeAScout Pins Today So Families Can Find You

When moms and dads visit BeAScout.org, they can enter their ZIP code to find all the Scout units near them. If you have updated your unit-owned pin, it will allow parents to communicate their interest directly you as the unit leader.  If you have not activated your unit-owned pin, parents will be directed the council’s website or phone number for additional information.

This Scouting Wire postExternal Link outlines the steps for updating your BeAScout.org pin. Last year, there were more than 600,000 visits to BeAScout.org. This year, that number could be even higher.

The BSA will be directing traffic to BeAScout.org through a number of venues including boosted posts on Facebook. That will ensure that prospective Scouting families come out in full force to the site this fall.

Once there, they’ll learn about Scouting, find units and access the lead form and membership application in the BSA’s new online registration system. (You can read the full article on Scouting magazine's "Bryan on Scouting" blogExternal Link, as well as other fall recruiting tips in the latest issue of Scouting WireExternal Link.)
