Throughout the History of the Boy Scouts of America, the rank of Eagle Scout has been seen as the greatest achievement of a young man’s Scouting career. It is the only rank a Scout can earned that he holds his entire life. In the modern era, only about 4% of boys that have participated in Scouts attain the rank.

In 2016, Fifty-Nine Scouts in the Jayhawk Area Council achieved the rank of Eagle. Some of these Scouts will be in attendance. Through the projects of these Eagle Scouts, 56 organizations benefited from over 7,300 hours of community service. The Eagle Scouts and their project information is attached in excel format.

About Dr. Menninger: Dr. William Walter Menninger has long been an active Scouter. He is an Eagle Scout who has been awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, Silver Beaver and Silver Buffalo Awards for exemplary service to youth. Dr. Walt has been on the Jayhawk Area Board for a number of years and served as the President of the Board from 1999-2001. He has served on the National Executive Board and currently serves on the BSA National Advisory Committee, the National Health and Safety Committee, and the National Executive Board Youth Protection Support Committee.

Please help us congratulate these young men who earned Eagle in 2016:
