2019 Klondike

Scouts - Start Your Sleds - Registration Now Open for Council Klondike!

Mush you doggies – mush! Are you ready for an extreme adventure? Polish up your cold weather Scout Skills and show us your stuff.

The 2019 Klondike Derby is closer than you think! The Klondike is an outdoor event held in cold-weather and sometimes snow that brings together hundreds of Scouts and volunteers.

Scout teams acting as huskies pull specially designed homemade sleds around a field course marked by stations called towns. As you arrive at each town, you will encounter a practical problem involving basic Scouting skills. Depending on how well your team works out this problem and is prepared by having the right stuff on the sled, your team is scored by the "Mayor" of the town.

The Klondike Derby offers 3 courses for Scouts: The Webelos Course or beginner’s course is designed for Cub Scouts (ages 9-11) new to the Klondike. The Boy Scout Course (ages 12-14) is spread out and has more challenging problems, such as crossing a ravine with their sled and building a fire to burn a string of rope. The Extreme course (for ages 14-18) offers exciting challenges like shooting rifles and shotguns.

Grease up your sled and come on out to the 2019 Klondike. You will not be disappointed!
