Cub Scout summer Camp Kansas

Cub Scout Summer Camps

The Jayhawk Area Council offers several camp opportunities for your Scout to get outside this summer.  Cub Scout Resident and Fun with Family are held at Camp Delaware on the Falley Scout ReservationExternal Link near Lake Perry.  Day Camps are held in each District at public facilities.

Each have a different purpose and format that allows you and your Scouts to choose what works best.  You can go to one or all three in a summer. It is up to you!

Cub Scout Resident Camp

Camp Delaware at Falley Scout Reservation is the home for our Cub Scout Resident Camps.  These three day, two night camp sessions are open to Wolves, Bears, Webelos, and Arrow of Light Scouts.*  A ratio of two adults to a maximum of eight Scouts and one additional adult for each additional four Scouts or parts thereof is required.

The purpose of Cub Scout Resident Camp is to provide an over-night camping experience, have fun, and work on advancement requirements.  The daytime program will focus on four Elective Adventures that are best suited to be completed in summer camp setting and will help your Scout in earning his rank award.  To view what adventures you will work on, click on the Cub Scout Adventures link below.  Additional activities at camp may include swimming, geocaching, shooting BBs and archery, games and crafts. The evenings are also full of fun activities you and your Scout can take part in.

*The rank level is determined by what rank you will be achieving the Fall after you attend camp.  For example, if you are starting second grade in the Fall after summer camp, you are considered a Wolf Scout.

Fun with Family

Also located at Camp Delaware, Fun with Family is an adventure for all Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos and their families.  It is a two day, one night experience.  Scouts must attend with their parent or guardian

The purpose of Fun with Family is to spend time with your Scout in an over-night, camp setting.  There is not a set schedule, so Scouts and parents can participate in the activities they want.  Advancement will not be emphasized at this camp.

Activities at camp may, but not limited to supervised water activities, archery, BB guns, fishing, boating, craft projects, geocaching, nature trails and a campfire. While this event is not advancement driven, bring your scout book as some the activities you do, may qualify for achievements towards your awards.

Day Camp

Day Camps are for Cub Scouts of all ages.  As the name implies, these camps run during the day and have no over-night camping.  They are usually located at public facilities such as parks or community camps.

Day Camp provides a great daytime program activity centered around a theme that provides the basis for the various activities and is fun for the Scouts.  Day Camps are held locally to provide a greater opportunity to participate.
